Submitting Reports & Experiences

Reports are the heart of The Darkives. Whether documenting your own experience or sharing someone else's account:

  • Be detailed and specific – Include dates, times, weather conditions, and exactly what occurred
  • Be honest – Clearly distinguish between what you witnessed and what you believe happened
  • Attribute sources – When reporting someone else's experience, credit the original witness
  • Avoid embellishment – Accurate accounts are more valuable than sensationalised stories
  • Include context – Moon phase, emotional state, and environmental factors can be relevant
  • Respect privacy – Don't include personal details of witnesses without their consent

Forum & Discussion Guidelines

Our forums are spaces for respectful discussion and knowledge sharing:

  • Stay on topic – Keep discussions relevant to the thread subject
  • Be constructive – Critique ideas, not people; offer solutions, not just criticism
  • Back up claims – Provide sources or evidence when making factual assertions
  • Respect diverse perspectives – The paranormal field includes many viewpoints and approaches
  • No gatekeeping – Welcome newcomers and share knowledge freely
  • Use mentions appropriately – Tag users only when relevant to the conversation

Wall Posts & Comments

Your wall and the community feed are for sharing updates, findings, and connecting with fellow researchers:

  • Share investigation updates, discoveries, and questions
  • Engage positively with others' posts through reactions and thoughtful comments
  • Avoid excessive self-promotion or repeated identical posts
  • Keep comments relevant and respectful
  • Use the block feature if you need to disengage from specific users

Location Safety & Legal Responsibility

Always respect the laws of your country and local area when visiting any location.

  • Know and follow local laws – regulations vary by country, region, and location type
