History
Lennox Castle was originally a 19th-century country house built for John Lennox Kincaid, later purchased by the Glasgow Corporation in 1927 and converted into a hospital for people with learning disabilities, opening in 1936. The hospital, which had a remote location and was known for a harsh, dehumanizing regime, gained a controversial reputation before its eventual closure.
