One prevalent theme in reports of haunted Aston pertains to apparitions. The area around Aston Hall, while now primarily agricultural, has historically been associated with sightings of a "Grey Lady," a common motif in English ghostlore. Witnesses describe a translucent female figure observed gliding through overgrown gardens and near ancient pathways, often accompanied by a sudden drop in temperature. Furthermore, inexplicable lights and anomalous sounds have been noted in the vicinity of older farmhouses and disused mills, particularly at night. These incidents, often attributed to residual energy or former inhabitants, contribute significantly to the local narrative of paranormal activity in Aston. Beyond visual and auditory phenomena, some reports detail more direct interactions. Objects reportedly move on their own accord, doors open and close without explanation, and electronic devices malfunction intermittently in certain properties, leading to consistent claims of poltergeist activity. Several pubs and former inns within Aston have also accumulated a body of anecdotal evidence related to haunted encounters, with staff and patrons recounting instances of items being moved, whispers heard when no one is present, and a general sense of unease in specific areas.
