Eyewitness accounts often describe auditory disturbances and sightings of apparitions, contributing to the village's reputation as a location with a notable history of the supernatural. Several historical buildings, particularly those dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries, are frequently cited as focal points for these occurrences. One recurring type of report involves disembodied voices and footsteps heard within unoccupied properties. Residents have reported hearing whispers and murmurs emanating from empty rooms, occasionally accompanied by the distinct sound of footsteps traversing hallways or ascending staircases when no living person is present. Witnesses describe encountering translucent figures, often fleeting and indistinct, that appear to traverse private properties and public spaces before vanishing. Some reports specify the appearance of a woman in period attire, particularly near the vicinity of the old rectory and the churchyard.
