While not as widely publicized as some other haunted locations in the UK, local lore and anecdotal accounts suggest a persistent presence of the unexplained within its boundaries. Many of these reports center around older structures in the village, particularly those with historical significance. The former Risley Hall, now a hotel, is frequently cited as a focal point for unusual occurrences. Figures in period attire are occasionally glimpsed among the gravestones, particularly around twilight. There have also been reports from residents living near the church of strange lights or glowing orbs observed at night within the churchyard grounds, adding to the intrigue surrounding paranormal activity Risley.
