These accounts frequently detail auditory experiences, including disembodied voices, unexplained footsteps, and the sounds of distant, non-existent church bells echoing through the valley, particularly near the ancient Twitchen Green. The prevalence of these reports has led some local historians to speculate on the village's ley lines or connections to pre-Christian burial grounds as potential sources for such energetic disturbances. Numerous personal testimonies highlight recurring visual phenomena. Witnesses have reported fleeting glimpses of shadowy figures, often described as moving quickly through peripheral vision or manifesting briefly in windows of older cottages. One notable recurring unexplained phenomena Twitchen account involves the apparition of a woman in white, said to drift along the old lane leading to the parish church, particularly on misty evenings. While some attribute these sightings to local legends or misinterpretations of natural phenomena, the consistency of reports across different generations suggests a persistent narrative within the community regarding these spectral appearances. Beyond auditory and visual experiences, a range of psychokinetic events has also been documented, albeit less frequently. These include instances of objects shifting inexplicably, doors opening or closing by themselves, and lights flickering without apparent cause inside historic buildings. The former Twitchen Public House, in particular, was a focal point for many such reports during its operational years, with staff and patrons describing articles moving off shelves and strange fluctuations in temperature.
