These reports span decades, with some accounts traceable back to the 19th century, depicting encounters with what locals describe as residual hauntings or intelligent entities.

Witnesses describe a robed figure, often seen at dusk, that vanishes when approached. Investigations into this particular sighting often involve attempts to correlate historical records of the priory's inhabitants with the reported apparitions. Additionally, unexplained lights have been observed in the skies above Veraby Moor, described as fast-moving orbs or pulsating glow that defy conventional atmospheric explanations, adding to the lore of unexplained phenomena in the region. These sightings are distinct from celestial events or known aircraft and have been a recurring topic of discussion within local paranormal circles.
Beyond visual phenomena, auditory disturbances are also a common feature of paranormal reports in Veraby. These include non-localized whispers, distant chanting, and the sound of bells when no belfry is present in the immediate vicinity. Several private residences, particularly those with historical significance, have also reported poltergeist activity, such as moving objects, sudden temperature drops, and the inexplicable activation of electronic devices. The collective accounts suggest that haunted Veraby may be subject to a range of paranormal manifestations, from residual energetic imprints to more interactive intelligent haunting. Local societies dedicated to researching paranormal activity Veraby often organize investigations, contributing to a growing archive of testimonials and observational data.
