These reports often focus on historical buildings and areas with significant past events, contributing to the village's reputation as a location of interest for paranormal investigators. One of the most frequently cited instances of paranormal activity in Baughurst involves The Old Rectory, a building with origins dating back several centuries. Witnesses have reported encountering a spectral figure, often described as a woman in period clothing, believed to be a former resident. Her appearances are typically brief, manifesting as fleeting glimpses in corridors or within specific rooms. Accompanying these visual sightings are accounts of disembodied footsteps, unexplained temperature drops, and the movement of small objects, suggesting a poltergeist-like presence. Another notable location is the ancient churchyard of St. Stephen's, where evening visitors have occasionally reported hearing faint whispers and distant chanting, despite no visible source.
