Reports of unusual incidents in Nocton encompass a wide range of categories. Apparitional sightings are common, particularly at Nocton Hall and its surrounding grounds, with descriptions often detailing shadowy figures, disembodied voices, and unexplained temperature drops. Poltergeist activity, characterized by moving objects and auditory disturbances, has also been reported within some of the village's older structures. Beyond traditional ghost stories, Nocton has also been cited in conjunction with UFO and UAP sightings, possibly due to its proximity to former RAF airfields. Eyewitness accounts describe unusual lights and aerial craft, adding a dimension of unexplained atmospheric phenomena to the village's lore. Cryptid encounters, although less frequent, occasionally surface, often involving fleeting glimpses of unidentified creatures in the more isolated rural areas surrounding the village. Several specific incidents have contributed to Nocton's reputation for paranormal activity. One recurring narrative concerns the ghost of a nurse at Nocton Hall, said to roam the corridors following a tragic event in the building's history as a sanatorium. Witnesses have described encounters with this spectral figure, often accompanied by feelings of unease or strong emotional resonance. Another pattern of reports involves unexplained lights observed over the Nocton Estate, distinct from conventional aircraft or astronomical objects, which have fuelled speculation about non-terrestrial phenomena. The cumulative effect of these documented witness accounts, combined with historical folklore and local legends passed down through generations, firmly establishes a perception of Nocton paranormal significance. While there is no formal body dedicated to cataloguing every instance of paranormal activity Nocton experiences, numerous local groups and independent researchers have investigated claims within the village.
