Yelverton, a village and civil parish in Norfolk, England, has been the subject of numerous reports concerning paranormal activity throughout its history. While lacking the extensive documentation found in larger, more historically prominent locations, accounts of unusual occurrences in Yelverton have circulated among local residents for decades. These reports often focus on specific locales within the village, such as the vicinity of St. Mary's Church and certain older residential properties. The nature of these alleged unexplained phenomena in Yelverton varies, encompassing traditional ghostly apparitions, unexplained auditory events, and subjective feelings of unease. One prominent area of interest for those investigating haunted Yelverton is St. Mary's Church. Built during the medieval period, the church and its surrounding graveyard have been the site of multiple witness statements detailing encounters with spectral figures. Descriptions range from shadowy forms observed moving between headstones to fleeting glimpses of a robed figure within the church building itself, often accompanied by a sudden drop in temperature. Additionally, unexplained noises, such as faint whispering or the sound of footsteps on non-existent upper floors, have been reported by individuals present in the church during quiet hours. These narratives contribute significantly to the local lore surrounding paranormal activity in Yelverton. Beyond the church, isolated incidents of paranormal activity have been reported in various private residences across Yelverton, particularly within older farmhouses and cottages. These accounts frequently detail instances of poltergeist-like phenomena, including objects moving on their own accord, doors opening and closing without human intervention, and unexplained electrical disturbances.
