Accounts often describe a consistent presence of non-human entities, echoing the region's rich folklore and historical events. One of the most frequently cited instances of paranormal activity at Bagby Grange involves apparitions. Witnesses over several decades have reported seeing shadowy figures moving within the older sections of the manor house, particularly in the former servant quarters and the extensive cellars. These apparitions are often described as fleeting and indistinct, typically manifesting as peripheral blurs or dark outlines before quickly disappearing. There have also been numerous reports of "ghostly whispers" and disembodied voices emanating from empty rooms, an auditory phenomenon that several independent investigatory teams have documented with recording equipment. The consistent nature of these reports across different time periods and by unconnected individuals contributes to the enduring perception of Bagby Grange as a haunted location. Beyond visual and auditory disturbances, Bagby Grange is particularly noted for its poltergeist activity. Objects, ranging from small ornaments to heavier furniture, have reportedly shifted or fallen without any apparent physical cause. Doors and windows are said to open and close on their own, often accompanied by sudden drops in temperature, even in well-insulated areas of the property. Electromagnetic field (EMF) detectors frequently register anomalous spikes in various areas, a common finding in many locations where unexplained phenomena are reported. The precise origins of these disturbances remain a subject of speculation, with theories ranging from residual energy imprints of past inhabitants to active intelligent presences within the Grange.
