Eyewitnesses and local folklore have chronicled a variety of spectral occurrences, making Shelton a recurring subject in discussions of paranormal investigations. One of the most persistent reports of paranormal activity in Shelton concerns the former site of Shelton Hall. While the original hall no longer stands, the land and remnants are said to be permeated with lingering energies. Disembodied voices, whispered and indistinguishable, have also been reported near where the main structure once stood.
