While not extensively documented in academic parapsychology, local folklore and anecdotal accounts suggest a history of unexplained phenomena. Many of these reports center around the older residential structures and former factory sites that characterize the district. Witnesses describe a range of experiences, from subtle disturbances to more overt manifestations, contributing to the area's notoriety for being a location with various reported paranormal occurrences. Among the most frequently cited instances of paranormal activity in Steel Bank are accounts of apparitions. These unexplained phenomena often contribute to a chilling atmosphere, especially around areas historically linked to the district's industrial past. Other reports detail instances of poltergeist-like activity. Objects are sometimes said to move on their own, lights flick on and off without human intervention, and cold spots are noted even in otherwise warm environments. These occurrences are often localized to specific properties or sections of Steel Bank.
