Investigations by local paranormal societies have frequently focused on areas such as the former site of the Ryecroft Mill and the vicinity of the old canal, where anecdotal evidence suggests a concentration of ghostly encounters. One of the most consistently reported types of paranormal activity in Ryecroft involves auditory phenomena. Such incidents contribute to the broader narrative of unexplained phenomena Ryecroft residents have experienced, often leading to calls for professional paranormal investigators. Visual manifestations comprise another significant category of paranormal reports. Witnesses describe a figure in long, flowing garments, believed by some to be a former worker or resident. These visual sightings, combined with sudden feelings of being watched or unexplained cold spots, lend credence to the area's reputation for being genuinely haunted Ryecroft.
