One of the most frequently cited instances of paranormal activity in Alvediston centers around a purported spectral entity known as the "Grey Lady." This apparition is said to manifest at or near St Mary's Church, often in the twilight hours. These incidents contribute to the recurring narratives of Alvediston being haunted. Beyond the church, other locations in Alvediston have been associated with unexplained phenomena. Several historic cottages and former farmhouses scattered across the parish have anecdotal accounts of poltergeist activity, including objects moving on their own, unexplained noises such as footsteps or distant murmurs, and sudden temperature drops.
