These reports often focus on specific locales, including older farmhouses, sections of the ancient woodland surrounding the settlement, and even stretches of the A515 road passing nearby. Ghostly apparitions are a recurring theme, with eyewitnesses describing fleeting glimpses of indistinct figures. One notable, though unsubstantiated, account involves a "grey lady" reportedly seen near the ruins of an old chapel, a figure often associated with sorrowful or protective spirits in British folklore. Further reports detail auditory phenomena that lack a discernible source. These include disembodied whispers, faint musical notes, and the sounds of footsteps on otherwise deserted paths, particularly after dusk. Some individuals living in historical properties within Lightwood have reported poltergeist-like activity, such as objects being moved or falling without external cause, and inexplicable fluctuations in temperature within specific rooms.
