One of the most frequently cited locations for paranormal activity in Newtown is the Old Mill, dating from the 17th century. Witnesses have consistently reported manifestations of a figure believed to be a former miller who died tragically on the premises. These sightings often describe a shadowy figure at the upper windows or a distinct feeling of a cold presence in the mill house. The graveyard itself is the subject of numerous sightings of spectral figures moving silently among the headstones, with some accounts describing a white lady figure who disappears when directly approached. These events are often recounted in conjunction with feelings of unease or being watched, contributing to the overall perception of hauntings in the area. Beyond specific locales, general instances of paranormal activity in Newtown include reports of unusual animal behavior, particularly within the wooded areas surrounding the village. Dogs are sometimes reported to bark inexplicably at seemingly empty spaces or refuse to enter certain areas.
