The estate, portions of which date back to the 14th century, has long been associated with local folklore regarding apparitions and unusual occurrences. Documented accounts suggest that Field's Place may possess a significant level of paranormal activity, attracting the attention of both amateur investigators and established parapsychologists. One of the most frequently reported phenomena at Field's Place involves what locals refer to as the "Grey Lady." This spectral figure is described as a woman in antiquated attire, often seen gliding through the older wings of the house, particularly in the former servant quarters and the grand staircase. Eyewitnesses have described feelings of an abrupt temperature drop in her presence, accompanied by a faint, unidentifiable floral scent. Other auditory phenomena at Field's Place include disembodied footsteps, muffled conversations, and the sound of children's laughter emanating from unoccupied rooms. Objects are also reported to move autonomously; for example, doors have been observed to open and close on their own, and small items have been found rearranged or relocated without human intervention. These instances contribute to the reputation of Field's Place as a location with tangible manifestations of unexplained phenomena. Beyond visual and auditory experiences, several individuals at Field's Place have reported poltergeist-like activity. Accounts detail objects being thrown or furniture being shifted, although always without any direct observation of a physical perpetrator.
