One of the most frequently cited instances of alleged paranormal activity in Walderton involves the former rectory. Residents and visitors have reported experiencing disembodied voices, often characterized as whispers or quiet murmuring, emanating from empty rooms. Objects are also said to move or disappear and reappear in different locations within the property. Cold spots, unexplained drafts even on calm days, and sensations of being watched are common complaints from individuals who have spent time in the rectory. The local woodland paths, particularly those leading towards the Walderton Down area, have been the site of reported apparitions. Described typically as fleeting, indistinct figures that vanish upon closer inspection, these sightings contribute to the village's haunted Walderton reputation.
